Hayek Park Ribbon-Cutting

CEREMONY DATE POST-PONED

The official ribbon cutting ceremony for Hayek Park is scheduled for TO BE DETERMINED, at 4:30.  The ceremony will coincides with the annual Peninusula Neighborhood clean up (11:00) and  Spring Party (4:00-6:00) http://peninsulaiowacity.com/spring-party-2017.html.  Refreshments will be served at the ribbon cutting.

 

Hayek Park opened in June 2016 and was the first project planned by the Peninsula Parks Improvement Committee.  The park is named for attorney and former Iowa City mayor Matt Hayek.

 

The committee continues to meet and is planning future projects to add value to our community.  Members of the committee are Amy Pretorius, Kay Weiler, Carolyn Noon, Keith Reins, Lisa Wilcox, Lucas Carr, Christina Sturtevant, Nate Knause and Corey Wilson.
